Sherborn Water Commission Approves Minutes, Advances Permitting After FEIR Certification

Sherborn Water Commission clears FEIR hurdle, faces unfunded peer-review bill. Project engineer Liz told the Water and Sewer District Commission the Final Environmental Impact Report has been certified, opening the state Interbasin Transfer Act process ahead of a September 10 hearing before the state Water Resource Commission. Commission member Matt said engineering-oversight quotes ranged from $242,000 to $375,000, estimating "a half a million dollars" to hire a construction peer reviewer, but developer representative Will said funding isn't available yet: "Until the water sewer district is up and running, we have no money whatsoever." Members unanimously approved July 22 and August 5 minutes and voted 5-0 to adjourn.
Design is expected to reach 90 percent completion around mid-January, tied to a Massachusetts Water Resources Authority permit filing.
