SHERBORN — March 11, 2026 — Sherborn's new water-sewer district commission worked through draft bylaws and heard a scheduling update at its March 11 meeting, with consultants warning the district is roughly 60 days behind its original timeline for filing a Final Environmental Impact Report with MEPA. Liz Clark of Tighe & Bond told the five-member North Sherborn Water Sewer District Interim Commission that regulatory documents need to be approximately 80 percent complete before filing, and that Framingham's slow progress on a required water study is contributing to the delay alongside the commission's own unfinished paperwork. The commission welcomed its newest member, Matt, a civil engineer from Wentworth University, who had been sworn in by the town clerk hours before the meeting and had already submitted tracked-change comments on both the bylaws and water regulations. Key bylaw decisions included agreeing to a two-thirds-of-abutters threshold for citizen-petitioned betterment projects and confirming — based on the district's special-act legislation — that bylaws and regulations can be amended at any regular commission meeting without a formal public hearing. A letter submitted the same day by Meadowbrook Road abutter Jane Wiedemeyer, seeking bylaw language exempting neighbors from betterment costs if construction contaminates private wells, was set aside for a future meeting.
