North Sherborn Water District Commission Set to Elect New Chair at July 1 Meeting

SHERBORN -- June 17, 2026, North Sherborn Water Sewer District Commission advances regulatory review and prepares leadership change. The North Sherborn Urban Water Sewer District Interim Commission held its June 17 working session, reporting that a Teams meeting earlier that day with the Department of Conservation and Recreation produced no major substantive objections to the draft Environmental Impact Report, though DCR flagged internal inconsistencies for correction and raised questions about the district's 65-gallon-per-day-per-person water-use planning figure in light of developments using private deep wells for irrigation. Commission members also discussed an MWRA application for 20 million gallons per day that may require regulatory review before the district's own 0.08-million-gallon-per-day application can be finalized, though Andrea, the current chair, said she did not believe it would cause significant delay. The commission agreed to defer formal officer elections to its July 1 meeting, where Josh, currently the minutes keeper, is expected to be voted in as the incoming chair after accepting a nomination from fellow members. Matt committed to gathering preliminary cost estimates from engineering firms for a peer-review and field-inspection scope, which the commission agreed should be handled by a separate firm from the one serving the Zoning Board of Appeals.
