Dover Board Approves Regional School Roof Deal, Road Paving Contract, and Town Warrant

SHERBORN — March 19, 2026 — Dover Select Board unanimously approves regional school roof deal, road paving award, and town meeting warrant at March 19 session. The board voted to approve an intergovernmental agreement committing Dover to pay $764,524 — its 53.2 percent regional share — toward a Dover-Sherborn Regional High School roof restoration project bid at just over $1.4 million by the low bidder, down from a $2 million estimate and well below the high bid of $2.4 million. The board also awarded a town-wide roadway resurfacing contract to Pawtucket Hot Mix Asphalt of Pawtucket, Rhode Island at $470,033.35, the lowest of six bids that ranged to nearly $957,000. Member Dave Haviland voted for the companion fee waiver for the roof project but flagged that Dover's provision of inspections, police, and fire services to the region — unreflected in regional cost-sharing percentages — represents "a lot of money over a lot of years." The board also approved the May 4, 2026 annual town meeting warrant, with authority for the town administrator and town counsel to make non-substantive edits ahead of the printer deadline.
