School Committee · Meeting of June 2, 2026

Sherborn School Committee reorganizes and previews sweeping curriculum and staffing changes for 2026-27. At the June 2 meeting in the Dover-Sherborn Middle School Library, members unanimously elected Bill Bolfano as chair and Megan as secretary, and seated new member Mason Kay. Assistant Superintendent Conklin outlined three draft district goals, expanded K-through-12 instructional coaching, a new district data team using the Open Architects platform, and systems alignment across buildings with multiple new administrators, plus a forthcoming study on elementary student support structures and class sizes with findings due before the fall budget season.

Business Administrator Dawn reported the district has drawn approximately $243,000 in circuit breaker funds to cover out-of-district placements, with a remaining operating variance of about $16,000 expected to close by fiscal year-end, and said two newly installed air conditioning units costing $743,000 reduced classroom temperatures by 3 to 4 degrees on recent 90-degree days. Pine Hill parent Leland Hall used public comment to urge the committee to publish clear outcome metrics for district initiatives, specifically citing the absence of any community-facing review following the Reveal math adoption.
