SHERBORN — Dover-Sherborn's three school committees unanimously adopt annual goals and defend the early-release calendar. Meeting jointly but voting separately, the Dover-Sherborn Regional, Dover and Sherborn school committees each approved district and superintendent goals for the year, with the regional panel passing 5-0 by roll call. Superintendent McCoy detailed a new K-12 curriculum coordinator, Jen Ryan, and new instructional coaches, including Rachel Erickson at the secondary level, the product of a two-year leadership study.
Asked about pricing an appearance by the TV character Ted Lasso for opening day, committee members guessed $200,000 to $250,000, so the district built an AI-generated version instead. McCoy also defended the district's early-release schedule to skeptical members, explaining that converting the sessions to full days would require extending teacher contracts by three days. All three committees also approved June 9 meeting minutes, with a correction to the regional committee's attendee list.

Correction (Nov. 3, 2026): An earlier version of this story misspelled the names of Dover School Committee members Jessie Hole, Laurence Migausky, Goli Sepehr and Sally Firnstein, and said the superintendent quoted $200,000 to $250,000 for a Ted Lasso appearance; those figures were committee members' guesses. It also credited remarks to Angie Johnson that the recording does not attribute to her, called two voice votes unanimous, and described the September 17 high school open house as already held.
