Sherborn Planning Board Sets June 9 Hearing for 67-Unit Meadowbrook Commons Project

SHERBORN — May 5, 2026 — Sherborn Planning Board schedules June 9 public hearing for a 67-unit age-55-and-over townhouse project on Coolidge Street. The board voted unanimously at its May 5 meeting to open the review of Meadowbrook Commons, which proposes 67 townhouses with seven affordable units — 10 percent of the total — and depends on water and sewer infrastructure that has not yet been engineered or permitted. The board also voted unanimously to authorize the town planner to hire a technical peer reviewer, with costs borne by the developer through escrow, and to delegate the stormwater management permit to the Conservation Commission given the site's extensive wetlands crossings. "It seems like it'd be more in the conservation commission's swimming lane," one member said. Separately, the town planner reported that U.S. Representative Jake Auchincloss, who visited Sherborn the day of the meeting, has submitted earmark requests with Senator Ed Markey to fund improvements at the Lake Street and Elliott Street intersection, identified as the town's highest-traffic-accident location.
