North Sherborn Water Sewer District Approves Draft O&M Plans, Eyes June FEIR Filing

SHERBORN — April 15, 2026 — North Sherborn Water Sewer District approves draft water and sewer operations-and-maintenance plans as it works toward a June 1 Final Environmental Impact Report deadline. The commission voted unanimously at its April 15 meeting to accept both draft O&M plans, which consultant Liz walked through section by section via screen share, surfacing unresolved questions about maintenance contractor obligations, the transfer of force main responsibility to the district when additional users connect, and a yet-to-be-designed SCADA system for the sewer meter. A key design update discussed at the meeting: the planned sewer force main has grown from three to four inches since the prior week, and pumps on the Toll Brothers and Kennedy Wilson developments have been upsized so that future single-family residential connections will not require their own telemetry systems. Commissioner Marion presented two draft responses to MEPA comments for the Final EIR, including one addressing abutters' concerns about blasting and private well impacts — reviewed and endorsed by the Sherborn Board of Health — and a second on open space protection, which the commission agreed to leave partially open pending the outcome of the Meadowbrook Commons special permit before the Planning Board. The commission set its next meeting for April 29, with the emergency management plan and a basis-of-rates memorandum expected to be on the agenda.
