Town Forest Committee · Meeting of August 26, 2026

Sherborn Forest Committee refocused its mission on tree canopy protection and forest stewardship. The committee, reviewing the town's draft Open Space Plan, agreed to collaborate with the Conservation Commission on environmental data collection rather than leading the work alone. Member Nicholas Rodenhouse will present the committee's stewardship plan to the Select Board on September 10 for feedback.

Chair Sam Van Blarcom requested that the board assess a new trail-head signage project from the Sherborn Forest and Trail Association. The committee also discussed funding needs, noting that the historic firewood program has declined due to volunteer shortages and exploring grant opportunities and possible free-cash transfer requests for next year's budget.
