Sherborn Advisory Board Backs Budget Growth Amid Levy Limit Concerns

Sherborn board reviews FY2027 budget facing Proposition 2½ headwind. Town Administrator Jeremy Marsette presented a 5.06 percent spending increase that would shrink excess levy capacity to just $96,000, down from $746,000 a year ago. The projected tax rate would reach $15.75 per thousand dollars of assessed value.
Major budget changes include legal counsel funding rising to $168,000 from $80,000 and school spending increasing roughly 5 percent. Capital projects include a $506,000 Pine Hill water tank renovation with a $100,000 grant and $125,000 in design work for town hall roof repairs.
