Open Space Committee revises recreational facilities plan

SHERBORN — Open Space Committee advances recreational facilities plan with focus on dog waste and climate impacts. Committee members unanimously approved prior meeting minutes and focused on refining Major Goal 6 of the town's recreational plan. Led by Dave Welch with Nicole Wiemeyer and Sam Nelson, the group identified three priorities: dog and goose waste management at Laurel Field, more granular recommendations for implementing agencies, and climate change impacts on facilities.
The 2025 survey yielded 321 completed responses and will close at month's end. The committee agreed the Sherborn Fields and Trails Association should invite the Town Forest Committee chair to present at an SFTA meeting.
