Groundwater committee backs Farm Pond stormwater grant

SHERBORN — Groundwater committee unanimously approves support for $300,000 Farm Pond stormwater grant. The Groundwater Protection Committee backed the state grant request from the Farm Pond Advisory Committee for stormwater improvements at the town beach. Committee Chair Tom Trainor reported the town center public well tested at 17.4 parts per trillion of PFAS6, below the concern threshold, while noting Sherborn entered Level 3 critical drought status as of March 9.
The committee also discussed a proposed 250-unit 40B development in Holliston adjacent to the Sherborn-Holliston aquifer boundary with concerns about impacts from the project's 48,060-gallon-per-day septic system.
