Fire department reports surge in emergency response needs

Sherborn Advisory Committee hears FY27 budget presentations for police, fire, ambulance, and emergency services. Police Chief Galvin reported the department has achieved accreditation certification and is requesting level services with a 4 percent wage increase; capital needs of $75,000 cover a police vehicle replacement. Fire Chief Ward reported call volume surged to 84 full-recall incidents in 2025 from 38 in 2024; capital requests total $215,000, including $150,000 for Engine 3 repair.
