HIGH SCHOOL -- At the Sept. 15 Dover-Sherborn Regional School Committee meeting, officials said the high school's athletic turf field was fully replaced over the summer as a warranty replacement, using a different installation crew but the same turf approach as before. One committee member called the finished field "beautiful" and "exciting." In the district's fiscal report for the year, officials noted a continuing negative variance tied to athletic fees, but said a vote to raise the per-family athletic fee cap back to five, combined with the addition of one new sport this year, is expected to help offset that shortfall going forward. Separately, Dover-Sherborn High School student council representatives told the committee they are considering moving Spirit Week from its traditional slot before Thanksgiving break to the week of homecoming, noting that week typically includes a Friday football game followed by Saturday's homecoming event.
