Sherborn Conservation Commission approved septic testing in a wetland buffer zone. Acting Chair Jacob Strauss and the commission voted 5-0 to allow soil testing at 155 Maple Street within the 100-foot wetland buffer for a failed septic system upgrade, with conditions including area restoration and no tree removal. The commission also continued a hearing on a more complex 179 Washington Street renovation proposal to June 4, requesting further review of updated plans that include a three-bedroom septic system upgrade, infiltration improvements, and approximately 35-37 replacement trees.
Commissioners raised questions about the capacity increase and pretreatment requirements for systems located within the buffer zones.
