Board of Health · Meeting of August 12, 2026

Sherborn's Board of Health deferred a proposal to mandate private well water testing at property sale. Co-Chair Daryl Beardsley expressed concerns that point-of-sale requirements would burden sellers unfairly and suggested voluntary testing might be more effective, while Dr. Rebecca Hunnewell advocated for mandatory testing to build a community-wide groundwater database and support informed decision-making.

The Board also appointed Stantec as supplemental health agent for 168 Woodland Street, unanimously approved three food establishment permits including The Tasty Gelato Truck and Nashbowls of New England, and approved June meeting minutes. The Board will continue discussions on water testing through the Groundwater Protection Committee and at a future meeting with broader participation.
