Advisory Committee approves $1M capital improvement recommendations
Advisory Committee · Meeting of March 11, 2026
Sherborn Advisory Committee backs $1M in capital projects with narrow budget margin. The committee unanimously approved four major capital recommendations totaling $1.037 million: $175,000 for recycling center equipment and electrical infrastructure, $400,000 for town hall roof and exterior repairs, $450,000 for roadway management, and $12,000 for irrigation sprinklers at Laurel Field. Town Administrator Jeremy Marsette reported that fiscal 2027 has only $2,000 in excess levy capacity, leaving little room for additional spending.
The committee also heard from Advisory Committee member Penn Young, who announced his resignation citing concerns that the Select Board's recent comments had undermined the committee's statutory budgetary authority.
